Orange Scones with Fresh Cranberries and White Chocolate

sugar

butter
cut into small pieces and very cold

buttermilk
Zest from 2 clementines*
1
tsp
vanilla

cup
fresh cranberries
chopped
1/2
cup
white chocolate chips
For the glaze:
1
cup
icing sugar
1-2
Tbsp
fresh orange juice
Instructions
In a large bowl mix together the flours, baking powder, sugar and salt.
Cut in the small pieces of cold butter until well combined but maintaining some pea sized pieces of butter.
Mix together the buttermilk, clementine zest and vanilla and pour into the flour mixture.
Mix until a rough dough forms.
Fold in the cranberries and white chocolate chips.
Turn out onto a counter and lightly knead/pat into a 1” thick disk.
Cut into 8 wedges and place on a baking sheet.
Bake at 425 for 15-20 minutes.
Make the glaze by whisking together the icing sugar and orange juice.
Allow the scones to cool slightly and then drizzle on the glaze.
Notes
*I used clementines, but you can also use the zest from one orange.
