Chocolate Chip Molasses Cookies
Chewy, spiced Molasses Cookies rolled in sugar and loaded with melty chocolate chips. Richly flavoured and easy to make with no chilling time required, these cookies are such a treat.

2 1/4 cups flour 2 tsp baking soda 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 tsp ginger 1/4 tsp cloves 1/4 tsp allspice 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 cup butter soft 1 cup brown sugar 1 egg 1/4 cup molasses 1 cup chocolate chips Sugar for rolling
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, salt and chocolate chips. Set aside.
Mix butter and sugar on medium speed in a stand mixer for several minutes until light and fluffy.
Add egg and molasses and mix again until well incorporated.
Add dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Roll dough into balls (I use a medium scoop - about 2 1/2 Tbsp size).
Roll dough balls in a small bowl of sugar so they are coated.
Place sugared dough balls on baking sheet about 2" apart.
Bake at 375 for 9-11 minutes.
