Or as I like to call it: put it on literally everything sauce.
Sure this homemade Buffalo Ranch Dressing is an amazing salad dressing. But, I’ve been known to drizzle it on just about everything including some very questionable choices (we’re not going to talk about that unfortuntate fruit incident k?).
The combination of creamy, cool ranch and zesty, zingy buffalo sauce is the fiery upgrade your ranch needed. And yes, I know you can now buy ready made Buffalo Ranch at the store, but I’ve tried it. This is better.
And it takes less than 10 minutes to throw together.

I make no apologies for my love of iceberg lettuce and as you can see below, it is my favourite salad to drizzle this dressing on.
My second favourite way to eat it is with crispy chicken wings or crunchy chicken tenders but you let your imagination fly and have your own way with it.
Just know that the ingredients are super simple and result in a perfectly balanced sauce that absolutely explodes with flavour.

buffalo ranch dressing recipe ingredients, tips, substitutions:
Greek Yogurt – any variety of thick Greek yogurt works. Sometimes I use Skyr and sometimes I use sour cream. All are delicious.
Mayonnaise – regular, light or vegan all work
Hot Sauce – Franks Hot Sauce is the gold standard for all things Buffalo in my opinion, but feel free to experiment with your fave hot sauce.
Buttermilk – buttermilk is key for true ranch flavour, but you can use regular milk if that’s all you have.
Green Onion – or chives.
Parsley – I use fresh parsley, but if you don’t have it you can use a smaller amount of dried.
Garlic and Onion – both onion powder, garlic powder and fresh garlic really punch up the ranch flavours.
Storing – keep the dressing refrigerated in an air tight container or mason jar for up to a week.
Buffalo Ranch Dressing Recipe Variations:
Extra Spicy Version – add in a bit pinch of cayenne and/or a drizzle of your favourite hot sauce.
Blue Cheese Version – mix in about 1/3 cup crumbled blue cheese.
Dairy Free Version – use non-dairy milk and a plant based thick yogurt.

buffalo ranch dressing Recipe, how to make it…
In a mixing bowl combine the yogurt, mayonnaise, hot sauce and a splash of buttermilk to keep things drizzly. Add in the green onion and the parsley to keep it fresh, and then add in the garlic, onion powder, garlic powder and salt to taste. Finally, we’ll add in a pinch of sugar… it’s key to the flavour balance.
Whisk all the ingredients until completely dreamy and smooth.
Dunk in a spoon or a finger and give it a little taste. Add more salt or sugar if needed.
Dip. Dunk. Drizzle. Repeat.
My pro-tip: if you can handle it, let the dressing sit in the fridge for a couple of hours before dipping in. It gives the flavours a chance to really develop.

serving ideas…
- Make a crisp, crunchy salad of iceberg lettuce, cucumber, tomato and green onion. Drizzle heavily and add a good sprinkle of freshly cracked black pepper.
- I looooooooove dip with my wings, so make a batch of chicken wings with a side of juicy carrot and celery sticks and dunk away.
- Use it as a sauce on your favourite sandwich or burger. I’m a big fan of a big smear of this on a turkey avocado sandwich.
- Make your favourite rice bowl and serve a bowl of this on the side for drizzling.
- Cook up a big batch of crispy fried (or sweet potato fries!) and dunk ’em in this!
