Creamy, rich sesame sauce in five minutes.
I don’t know what this Goma Dressing wouldn’t be good on and if someone doesn’t keep an eye on me there’s a good chance I’m going to sit and eat the whole bowl of it with a spoon, which would be kind of uncivilized. Even though I would enjoy it very much.
And you know what’s even better than how good it tastes? How easy it is to make.

This takes all of 5 minutes to make if you have your sesame seeds toasted and ready. If you don’t, it’s probably 10 minutes, which I know you can handle because it’s very much worth it.
Maybe you use that extra 5 minutes to cook up some ramen noodles to drown in rich, creamy, sesame, saucy deliciousness… Just an idea…

A word about making Goma Dressing in the blender…
The standard method for making this yummy sauce is to toast the sesame seeds and then use a mortar and pestle to grind the ingredients together. This allows you to retain some texture in the sauce, which is part of what makes it so awesome.
I’m also far too pressed for time (ahem… lazy) some days to put all that elbow grease into mortar and pestling for any length of time. So I’m going to call dumping it all into the blender an act of efficiency.
And I’m ok with that.

Anything Special You Need to Know?
*We’re making this in the blender, but there is a trick to making it just right… you don’t want to blend the heck out of it. In order to retain a little texture, I blend this on a pretty low speed. It comes together really quickly, so just keep an eye on it. You can make it completely smooth is that’s what you’re into, and it will still be amazing, I just like it this way.
*Goma means “sesame seed” in Japanese. An it means “eraser” in Spanish. It’s also a city Democratic Republic of the Congo. Don’t say you didn’t ever learn anything valuable here in my kitchen.
*While I was reading up on Japanese cuisine I found this list of Japanese recipes to try… check it out and agree with me that Ketchup Pasta has GOT to go on the list!!
