Steak with Tarragon Butter. Because if you aren’t putting butter on your steak what are you even doing with your life??? Holy. Yum.
This is the best steak I’ve had in a very long time. And it’s not even a rib eye!! It’s even got me thinking that strip steak might just be my new favourite cut. Is that possible? Try this and tell me. 😉
Really though, please try this. The marinade is so flavourful… the tarragon butter just melts into the hot steak… it is just heaven.
Other than the marinating time, the whole dish comes together in no time at all, so why wait?
There’s still time… don’t put your grill away yet!
Recipe-ish:
Ingredients
- 3-4 strip steaks
- For the marinade:
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- For the tarragon butter:
- 1/2 cup soft butter
- 1 minced garlic clove
- 2 tsp grainy mustard
- 2 Tbsp chopped fresh tarragon
Directions
For the marinade combine together the red wine, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and olive oil. Mix well.
Place the steaks in a dish or plastic bag and pour the marinade over them, turning to coat evenly. Refrigerate and let marinate for several hours.
While the steaks marinate, make the butter by mixing together the butter, garlic, mustard and tarragon. Use a mixer or just mash with a fork until evenly combined. Set aside until you cook the steaks.
Remove steaks from the marinade, hit them with a little flaky salt and freshly ground black pepper and grill. Top with a blob of butter and serve.
Let me know what you think!
