This is so easy it’s almost ridiculous.
This Dill Pickle Vodka is SO good. And SO easy. Sure, you can go to a fancy liquor store and buy some expensive, boutiquey, quadruple filtered, ultra-bougie Dill Pickle Vodka. OR… or you can make your own. In literally 5 minutes.
All you need is your favourite vodka, some dill pickle brine straight from the pickle jar, a couple of pickles, a handful of dill and a jar. You can even use the pickle jar you already have!

dill pickle vodka Recipe ingredients, tips, substitutions:
Vodka (obviously) – dealer’s choice here. Use whatever vodka is your favourite, but a clean, smooth vodka is obviously going to produce the best results. The cheapest vodka tends to be a bit harsh with kind of a rubbing-alcohol vibe that isn’t really my fave.
Dill Pickles – use your favourite dill pickle here. Baby dills, garlic dills, kosher, lower salt… there are a bazillion types of dill pickle out there so there are no rules. Except maybe sweet pickles… that’s for another day.
Fresh Dill – we are going to maximum dill power here so I think fresh dill is a non-negotiable. No need to get specific, just throw in a good handful of it.
Pickle Juice – pickle brine is obviously a key ingredient. I strain the vodka before using it, so you don’t even have to worry about whatever random flavourings are in your pickles be that mustard seeds, peppercorns, garlic chunks… jut throw it all in!
Dill Pickle Vodka Recipe Variations:
Spicy Dill Pickle Vodka Version – add a big pinch of red pepper flakes to the jar. I use about 1/2 tsp and it’s a good amount of heat for me. A few black peppercorns are good too.
Jalapeño Pickle Vodka Version – slice up half of a fresh jalapeño and add it into the jar.
Lemon Pickle Vodka Version – add a few big strips of lemon zest into the jar. This version makes an absolutely delicious martini.

dill pickle vodka recipe, how to make it…
When I say easy I mean easy. Like easier than driving to the liquor store to buy pickle vodka easy. The hardest part is waiting a couple of days for it to infuse, but I can tell you that it’s even pretty darn good right after you’ve mixed it all up. Give the jar a good shake and pour away. I won’t judge.
First thing is to get a nice clean jar.
Next throw in a couple of pickles. Squish in a handful of fresh dill, stems and all.
Pour in the vodka. Pour in the pickle brine. Add in the red pepper flakes if you’re making the spicy dill pickle vodka version.
Screw the lid on tightly. Turn the jar a few times to make sure everything is all mixed up.
Are you tired now? Go ahead and take a little sample for quality control. You’ve earned it.
Place the jar in the fridge and let it sit to infuse for 2-3 days. Then get to cocktail making!
