You call it snack or appetizer. I call it lazy girl dinner.
Loaded Avocado Dip with Chili Crisp. Super impressive appetizer. Yummy, healthy snack. Or, if you’re me, the plate to plunk on the table in front of your kids when they’re hungry that they will inhale and think you slaved away on but you actually threw it together in less than 10 minutes. Win.
Bright, creamy, lime-juice-spiked avocado spread on a plate and piled up with all the delicious fixings… salty, crumbled feta cheese… juicy, diced fresh tomatoes… fresh green herbs… and the best part… a big drizzle of spicy, flavourful chili crisp.

If you’re one of the few remaining people in the world who isn’t familiar with chili crisp then you are going to be so glad you came here today. Chili crisp has been taking the food world by storm for a while now and with very good reason. It’s a spicy, aromatic, crispy chili oil that elevates everything it touches. You can make your own by using a recipe like this one, but for the record, I usually just buy it because it’s available everywhere these days – you can find the one I use here and probably in your local grocery store.

Loaded Avocado Dip with Chili Crisp, how to make it…
Friends, this one is so easy that I will not insult you by writing out a big “step 1… step 2…” instruction sequence. I think you’ll be ok here.
Mash up avocados with a hefty dose of lime juice and salt. Spread them on a plate.
Top with juicy tomatoes, salty feta cheese, fresh herbs and chili crisp.
That’s it. That’s the whole thing. Serve with chips or whatever you think will taste good.

Loaded Avocado Dip with Chili Crisp Recipe ingredients, tips, substitutions:
Lime Juice – fresh is best, always.
Cheese – crumbled feta cheese is what I use, but you can use queso fresco or a plant based cheese or even goat cheese.
Cilantro – if you’re a cilantro hater go ahead and try another fresh herb. Basil, mint and/or chives would all be good.
Serving – we like this with tortilla chips, but feel free to use any other kind of chip, cracker, or even pita bread or grilled corn tortillas.
Avocado Dip Recipe Variations:
- Try subbing in peppers, goat cheese, sundried tomatoes and red pepper flakes.
- Add in some black olives or capers for a briny flavour.
- Make a taco version with pico de gallo, shredded cheddar and chili powder.
