Because somebody has to make some Valentine’s Day cookies for the grownups!
Allow me. Fireball Whiskey Cinnamon Heart Cookies. What you are about to read is not an ad but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t be one so if you have any contacts at the Fireball company please send them my way. I still haven’t heard from them since I made last year’s Fireball Whiskey Cinnamon Heart Blondies, which you all loved, but I’m sure they’re just busy and haven’t gotten around to it yet.
For this year I’ve upped my game and made the ultimate adult V-Day cookies. Spiked with cinnamon whiskey, loaded with cinnamon heart candies and topped with – yep – even more whiskey in a sweet Fireball glaze. They are SO yum.

If you’re looking for a way to impress your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day… of if there’s a sweetheart you have your eye on that you’re trying to win over… of you’re like my daughter and heading to a Galentine’s Day party… or you’re single and need something to eat on the couch with your bottle of rosé…
…make these. You will feel the love.

Fireball whiskey cinnamon heart cookies Recipe ingredients, tips, substitutions:
Fireball Whiskey – I really don’t know if there’s an alternative product out there, but feel free to sub in any whiskey.
Cinnamon Heart Candies – make sure these are the old school cinnamon hearts, not the cheapie, powdery ones you might find in a dollar store. I’ve tried those. They are blech.
Cayenne – when you drink a shot of Fireball (I’ve heart), it kind of burns a little so the add of cayenne is to add a little heat here. Adjust the amount according to your taste and for an extra kick add a little to the glaze too.

fireball whiskey cinnamon heart cookies recipe, how to make it…
Your standard cookie method here… cream the butter and sugar, add in an egg, some vanilla and a little whiskey and mix well. In another bowl mix up some flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and a little cinnamon & cayenne. Add the dry to the wet with a whole bunch of cinnamon heart candies and mix just until it comes together.
Scoop the cookies onto a baking sheet and bake them. Now the hard part… let them cool! I know, I know. Goes against your every instinct when it comes to baking cookies and all you want to do is burn the bejeepers out of your mouth by biting into them straight out of the oven, but there is a reason for this insane request I’m asking of you… the glaze. Yes, we are going to top these deliciously chewy cookies with even more cinnamon whiskey in the form of a glaze. You’ll thank me for it.

I am very excited to make these but I do have one quick question- is the milk powder necessary, I only ask cause I have all the ingredients in my cupboard but the milk powder?
Hi Maggie! You can easily omit the milk powder and nothing will change. It’s just a flavour enhancer. I hope you love them!
Made these cookies today. Used normal cinnamon candy because it’s for Christmas. First, husband and son (adult) loved them. However, I have a question and a recommendation. I did the glaze with the amounts in recipe, and it was not a glaze. It was incredibly thick (like paste). Added more of the whiskey and got it to a frosting like texture. It worked as a frosting but still was not a glaze. Did you use more or something else to make it a glaze? Second, you just said to scoop dough onto baking sheet. My recommendation is to give some kind of measurement as to amount of scoop. I kind of just guessed.
Hi Deb, thanks for commenting. I’m not sure what happened with the glaze for you, but it does thin out for me. You can try adding a little milk or even a little water to achieve the texture you like. I use a medium sized cookie scoop for the cookies… I believe it’s about 2 – 2 1/2 tablespoons. Hope that helps! Let me know if I can help with anything else. 🙂
