Homemade Honey Butter Almonds. Your new favourite snack. Sweet. Buttery. A little salty.
We already love almonds, don’t we? But how about if we make them less boring? How about if we take them up 843 notches by coating them in a honey butter glaze that coats them in a shiny delicious coating and makes them literally impossible to resist. I’d like to say they’re the perfect snack, but I just ate a bowl of them and called it lunch so….

- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp flaky salt
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a cast iron skillet over medium heat.

- Continue cooking and stirring often until the syrup thickens and excess liquid evaporates.

Honey Butter Almonds Recipe ingredients, tips, substitutions:
Almonds – regular, raw, unsalted almonds.
Butter – I use salted butter. If you use unsalted you will want to add an extra sprinkle of salt to the recipe.
Honey – I use the runny, drippy, raw kind.
Salt – any sea salt or kosher salt works. I like a flakier salt because it adds a little extra crunch.
Honey Butter Almonds Recipe Variations:
Mixed Nuts Version – swap out the almonds for your favourite mixed nuts.
Spiced Version – add a pinch each of cinnamon, ginger and black pepper when you add in the nuts.

honey butter almonds recipe, how to make it…
I like to use a heavy, cast iron skillet for this recipe. I use my 12″ skillet so there’s lots of room for the nuts.
Melt the butter in the skillet over medium heat and when it’s completely melted and hot, add in the nuts and the honey. Stir the mixture well. Keep cooking and stirring for a good 5-6 minutes, watching carefully and turning the heat down if things look like they’re heading to burnsville.
The nuts are done when the mixture becomes really thick and the syrup is sticking to the nuts.
Spread the nuts out evenly on a parchment lined baking sheet and sprinkle with the salt. Keep stirring until the syrup starts to cool and solidify and stops pooling on the baking sheet. Leave the nuts on the baking to cool completely and then break them apart.
